Independence Day

This is Nepal's version of a dunk tank. Someone sits in the chair. You throw balls at the wooden square on the board that is holding up the bucket. When the board falls down, the bucket dumps on your head. Happy 4th of July!

First haircut

Sophia got her first haircut and room service in Bangkok.

Thailand

We went to the beach in Thailand for a few days of restful vacation.

It's raining it's pouring

It's starting to rain here a lot. Sophia is preparing for the monsoon season to begin.

Sophia and Isabelle are always open doors to share the gospel. Many people will talk to me just because I have a blond hair girl and a baby.

Forgery

Nepalis do some funny things. Things like filming movies in the theater and selling them in Nepal for cheap and copying international newspapers on a Xerox and selling them with three large staples along the side like a book. To them it is cheaper than order a bunch of real ones and selling them. But wouldn't you think that all the ink and paper they use for copying them would have been just as cheap as getting the real ones to sell?

Living Water

A volunteer team from Kentucky did a mass distribution of water and gospel tracts to Tibetans around Swayambu. Our prayer is that they will thirst for the Living Water only found in Jesus Christ.

Lazy Gringo fun

The Lazy Gringo celebrated Cinqo de Mayo. Bo passed out flyers on the street in his Mexican outfit. Uncle Justin and Sophia played hide and seek before people got there.

No power

No wonder we only have power eight hours a day!

Isabelle is getting sweeter and sweeter. Every new Tibetan that meets her gives her a "Kata", blessing scarf, which is a tradition in the Tibetan culture. At three months old she was nine pounds and eight ounces.

The Lucky One

Here, we are purchasing a chicken to buy. This is the lucky one!

Family visit

Summer's dad and brother came to visit. It was a fun time although Nepal was going through some crazy political problems so we had to stay in the city. My brother took a picture of Kathmandu from up high. Kathmandu is as lost as it is vast. So many people work so hard every day to earn merit that will get them nowhere without the one true God.

"Aunt Amber"

We did not show Sophia how to make a place setting, but during her bath she figured it out on her own and this reminded us of only one person, Amber.

Chickens

We see this all the time. It's how they transport their chickens from place to place. Many times it is also on a motorcycle but they are going to fast for us to get a picture.

Easter

For Easter, we gathered with most of our Christian friends to worship and celebrate the Risen Saviour.

Hail storm

They say March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. Well that was true this March night. We had our first big spring shower and along with it came hail and lots of it. It hailed so much it covered our yard and stacked up against the house about 3-4 inches. Our landlords were already cleaning it up by the time we got a picture of it. Sophia called it snow.

Back in Nepal

We are back in Nepal now adjusting to life with a newborn and a toddler. Izzy sleeps well at night, but will not sleep in the day for anything. Sometimes she is up 7 hours before she will finally take a nap. I am trying everything to get her to take naps but she won't, so it is really hard. The pictures are of Lhasa, our dog, and Sophia helping a Tibetan lady water our flowers in the yard.

Counting Down

We now have one week left in Bangkok before we head back to Nepal. It's been fun, but we are ready to settle down and get back to work. We are still waiting on Isabelle's passport to come in, but that gives us a little time to get some last minute things done here before we pack up.
